Plateau State: Medical women seek greater collaboration with organized women body (NCWS)

The Plateau State Branch of the Medical Women’s Association (MWAN) embarked on a courtesy visit to the President and EXCO of the National Council for Women Societies (NCWS) Plateau state chapter.

During this visit, Dr. Nana Emeribe, the president of MWAN Plateau, expressed sincere commendation to the leadership of NCWS for their pivotal role in uniting women groups across the state. She also applauded their efforts in advocating for the rights and well-being of women on the Plateau, serving as a source of inspiration for them.

Furthermore, she emphasized that MWAN is seeking collaborations on health awareness programs in all local government areas (LGAs) of the state. “Given our expertise in the medical field, we are well-positioned to contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing health outcomes for women and their families. We have members who possess expertise in various areas beyond medical practice, and we are eager to make meaningful contributions to the objectives of NCWS in any capacity that is deemed suitable.”

In an exclusive interview with VPN Reporter at the event, Dr. Nana revealed that MWAN Plateau is organizing a webinar presentation to commemorate International Women’s Day on the 8th of March 2024. several women groups, including NCWS, have been invited to participate. Additionally, media engagements are currently underway on various radio and TV stations across the state.

In addition, the Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria (MWAN) is proposing a medical outreach to IDP camps in Mangu during the month of March.

In response, the Chairperson, Mrs. Celina Ali, of the National Council for Women Societies (NCWS) in Plateau State, expressed her gratitude to MWAN Plateau for their continuous support and dedication in providing healthcare services. She also acknowledged their efforts in promoting the welfare of women on the Plateau. Mrs. Ali eagerly anticipates more collaborations with MWAN, particularly in terms of healthcare delivery, health education, and health promotion. She emphasized the importance of medical women supporting the NCWS clinic, which primarily provides services to women. This visit aims to foster numerous collaborations that will enhance the well-being of women, youth, and children on the Plateau.
