Dr Elkanah Garang has joined in condemning the Christmas Eve Attacks which took place in some communities in Bokkos LGA of Plateau where lives of innocent citizens were lost. Gun men had reportedly attacked the communities on Sunday December 24th 2023 in Bokkos LGA killing many including women and children.

Dr Elkanah Garang in a statement issued on Monday 25th December 2023 while condemning the sad development called on the Plateau State Government and the Federal Government to take decisive and proactive decisions in protecting communities in Plateau State and in Nigeria at large, rather than wait for communities to be attacked before deploying security to the affected areas.

Dr Garang appealed to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to immediately deploy relief materials to thousands of Internally Displaced Persons who have fled their communities in search of safety and shelter, stressing that harsh weather conditions may compound the already worse humanitarian crisis in the state.

Dr Garang condoled with the people of Bokkos LGA of Plateau State, particularly families of those who lost their beloved ones and prayed God to comfort them specially.
