The Labour Party (LP) Candidate in the 2023 Plateau North Senatorial Election and the forth coming Rerun Election, Barr. Gyang Zi called on his supporters to remain calm, following the ruling of the Court of Appeal that struck out his Application for Review of the Appeal Court Judgement that nullified the Election in the zone and ordered for a rerun within 90days instead of declaring him the winner of the said Election as provided for under Section 136 (2) of the ElectoralAct, 2022.

Barr. Gyang Zi in a statement made available to Journalists in Abuja on Friday, stressed his confidence in the judiciary as the last hope of the common man and one of the strongest Pillars of our Democracy.

“When we embarked on the journey to challenging the election through Judicial Processes, it was a calculated resolution and we were conscious of the fact that the journey would not be a sprint but a marathon with inevitable twists and turns.”

Barr. Zi said, “Our destination was clearly defined from the onset, and our focus is unchanged. So, at this juncture, our faith in God is renewed, as well as our solid confidence in the Judiciary.

“I therefore encourage all my supporters to stay calm, keep praying to God, and look beyond the eclipse of transitional sunset.”

Barr. Gyang Zi called on the Labour Party and his teeming supporters to get to work and ensure that the rerun election is won with landslide.

“Our impressive support base, our party Leadership and our able stakeholders are fully committed to the task ahead, all hands are on deck to liberate Plateau North Senatorial District, including thousands of other members from other Political Parties with good conscience who have chosen good representation over politics.”- He said.

“The face of Plateau North will be restored and our great party, the Labour Party (LP), loved by the good people of our Plateau North and deemed a credible alternative, will coast to victory at the rerun election”.

He owever, debunk false propaganda going the round that the PDP Candidate will be part of the Rerun Election and that he was fined the sum of N20 million, he said othing of such occurred in the Court and those peddling such falsehood should make the Certified True Copy of the Rulling available to the people.

Gyang Zi: “PDP as a Political Party has been disqualified and her votes declared wested votes; that is why Hon. Simon Mwadkwon is at home. The Rulling of the Court of Appeal delivered today 8th December, 2023 did not in any way said or suggest that Hon. Simon Mwadkwon of the PDP will participate in the Rerun Elections; his earlier purported election having been nullified for want of valid Structure to nominate and sponsor him. The Court of Appeal only declined Jurisdiction on the ground that 60 days allowed to Appeal the Judgement of the lower Election Petition Tribunal has elapsed and therefore cannot entertain theApplication. People should not be misled to avoid painfulexperiences as was experienced very recently, I was also not fined a dime by the Court of Appeal” he emphasized, saying Certified True Copies of the Rulling should be made available by the said peddlers of false propaganda and mischief.
