Amidst the outcry and protests of this week, the attacks being perpetuated by Boko Haram’s killer squad in conjunction with Fulani marauders on the Plateau, appears to still be continuing with no end in sight.
In the latest such attacks – 5 people were ambushed and gruesomely murdered in Gashish village of Barkin Ladi LGA today Monday 31st August in the early hours of the morning at 6:00 am. The five individuals were shot at close range with semi automatic rifles and then their heads were smashed up, with heavy weapons and tools – completely destroying their faces. All 5 individuals were enroute the weekly mai-katako market, for commercial activities.
This is the second attack which has occurred in the last two days. Yesterday, Jol village (which has been attacked over 30 times in the past), came under severe siege by this special killer squad of Boko Haram (who appear to be working under the instructions of Fulani marauders). They laid siege at Jol village for over 2 hours, killing several people and wounding scores.
Also, yesterday in Sanga Local Government area of Kaduna state, herdsmen were said to have killed over 33 people in Ambie and Paa villages of Sanga local government councils. The recent killings bring to approx. 200, the number of people killed by Fulani herdsmen in Sanga LGA in the past 1 week, see the link:

As it stands, several communities in Barkin Ladi and Riyom are being completely isolated and cut off, because they are unable to go to their farms for fear of being killed and also unable to go to neighbouring village markets to transact businesses for fear of being ambushed.
At the time of filing this report, ViewPointNigeria was still waiting for pictures of the attacks from Jol village and shall report accordingly.
