Plateau State – Two villagers from the Rebet community of Barkin Ladi have been reportedly killed and 50 cows rustled in a clandestine attack by suspected marauders on Tuesday night.
The deceased were identified as Yakubu Ishaya and Jawo Gyang, two locals who were well known in the Berom community. The attack was reported to have caused severe tension and apprehension in the area, given the peace pact recently made between the Fulani and Berom communities.
Spokesman for the Special Task Force in the state, Captain Salisu Mustapha confirmed the attack and further disclosed that two people had been arrested in Tafawa Balewa Local Government area of Bauchi State in connection with the attack, stating that further investigations were still on going.
