In this season of heightened consciousness about what is happening in Plateau, protests have continued in respect of the now topical Boko Haram-assisted Fulani massacre in Plateau villages and the middle belt.
Last week, a group of concerned Plateau youth under the auspices of Plateau Speaks, organised a 5 day protest at the Unity Fountain in Abuja. The event had in attendance several notable politicians, opinion and religious leaders over the course of the 5 days.
Today, in Jos – another protest was organised by Plateau Intelligentisia. The well attended event started 7:00 am at the Old Airport Junction and marched through to the House of Assembly. At the Plateau state House of Assembly, the Speaker of the House, Hon. Peter Azi address the march – commending them for taking the initiative of organising such and event, promising to escalate all points raised to relevant authorities.
This week Friday in London (4th Sept), the Plateau State Association-UK is organising similar protests at the Nigerian High Commission situated at 9 Northumberland Ave, London WC2N 5BX. The protest would commence at 12:00 noon at the High Commission gate. If you are in London and wish to attend, please reach out to the publicity secretary at [email protected].
