The Northern Independent Petroleum Marketers Forum has threatened to withdraw services from Monday 5th September 2022 as part of a three-day warning strike if their demands over bridging claims are not paid to them.

The decision was reached following a General Meeting held on Wednesday 17th August 2022 in Kano. The Forum is pressing on the Federal Government through the Nigerian Mainstream and Downstream Petroleum Regularly Authority (NMDPRA) to pay their members bridging claims which have not been paid to some of them for over a year.

In a communication signed by Alhaji Maikarfi Yahaya Maikifi and Alhaji Zarma Mustapha, National Chairman and Secretary respectively, dated 19th August 2022 and made available to this medium on Saturday 3rd September 2022, the forum directed their member who have unsettled bridging claims to come out on the 5th, 6th and 7th September 2022 respectively in solidarity during the industrial action.

They urged the leadership of the forum across the 19 Northern States to liaise with the leadership of all sister unions/associations in their various depots to to ensure total compliance by members.

While confirming the development to Journalists in Jos, the Plateau State Capital, State Chairman of the association, Chief Davidson Nwosu stressed that there is no going back on their decision to embark on the three days warning strike, adding that the only workable solution is for the Federal Government to act swiftly to avert unwanted scarcity of Petroleum products across the 19 Northern States.
