A bomb explosion is reported to have happened at Ecwa Bishara 1, by Federal Secretariat in the Tudun Wada area of Jos city. The Bomb was said to have gone off mid-service at 9:00 am, when Christian faithfuls were in worship.

An eye witness who spoke to ViewPointNigeria confirmed that the bomb was discovered in the toilet of the Church by one of the worshippers, who then raised an alarm. The church Chief Security Officer (CSO), then mobilised for the church security members to carefully recover and detonate it in a controlled manner.

Following the detonation of the first bomb, a search operation of the entire premises was conducted, leading to the discovery of a second bomb which failed to detonate  and was quickly neutralised by the Church Security Officers in conjunction with men of the anti-bomb squad who arrived the scene in a swift response.

Preliminary reports suggests no critical fatalities were evident  – albeit, the fact that several people were said to have suffered degrees of injuries from the Pandemonium and debris at the site.

This is happening exactly a week after the Bomb Explosion which occurred in two locations in Jos (at a Mosque and a restaurant), killing 44 people.

Jos, the Plateau capital has witnessed a significant escalation in Bombings and Boko Haram related atrocities lately. It has equally witness significant levels of attacks from Fulani marauders, where they sack entire villages, killing and maiming scores.

Several people are starting to express frustration at Muhammadu Buhari’s security agenda -as the attacks appear to have escalated since he took over the helm of affairs of the country.
