Bokkos – The peace pact which was made last month between the Fulani and their host communities in Riyom, Barkin Ladi, Bokkos and Jos South, was compromised this weekend, following fresh hostilities in Bokkos Local Government area of Plateau State.
News reaching ViewPointNigeria indicates that six people were killed in the recent mayhem, when suspected Fulani marauders staged a clandestine attack on the Bokkos community. Trouble was said to have started on Saturday night when the natives in Manguno awoke in the middle of the night to discover that they were under seige by suspect marauders. This surprise attack led to the killing of two people, following of which the natives were said to have stage a bold counter attack, killing two of the marauders. The bold afront by the natives was said to have irked the marauders who fleed and returned on Sunday night, launching a further offensive during which an additional two people were confirmed dead.
