Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa State has warned government officials against indiscriminate sale of government  properties in the state.

Al-Makura said that government will not hesitate to deal decisively with any one caught involved  either directly or indirectly in the fraudulent sale of government lands and properties.

He said that the state government will also pulled down structures erected  on water ways, roads and government land without the necessary government approval.

He explained that his administration would not tolerate criminal conduct from any government officials and that henceforth security agencies will be mandated to prosecute any body involved in using government property for personal use without proper authorization.

He added that government will soon take inventory of government properties in Ministries, Agencies and Parastatals and provide a data bank for easy access in future.

The governor said whoever purchased government land or any items belonging to government  from unauthorised persons or group of persons under any guise, such persons are doing that at their own risk.

He also warned potential property developers, individuals and the public to be wary of the activities of desperate land speculators and fraudsters.

He called on relevant government agencies to take note of development on government properties and ensure that such developments are caried out in compliance with the necessary government directives.

He urged the public to assist government in watching over government properties close to them as part of their social responsibility.
