SENATOR GYANG BAGS GLOBAL PEACE AND HUMANITARIAN AWARD.

Senator I. D. Gyang of Plateau North and Deputy Chairman Senate Committee on Defence has been accorded the 2021 Prestigious Global Peace and Humanitarian Award for Global Excellence in Peace building Leadership and Development. The event took place in Istanbul, Turkey on 23rd October, 2021 but the award was brought to him in Abuja as the Senator was engrossed with the 2022 Budget Defence, a legislation that is strategic for the nation and his constituency.

In a statement made by Hon. Musa Ibrahim Ashoms Special Assistant on Media and Protocol to Senator I. D. Gyang, Esq. Says

“The fifteen (15) 2021 Global Peace and Humanitarian Award recipients who cut across five continents are celebrated for their exceptional contribution in promoting peace and humanitarian activities in their respective nations and continental regions.

Promoters of the Global Peace and Humanitarian Awards are a coalition of CSOs including Excellence One UK, Rotary Club International and Global Peace Networks who predicated the award on persons whose lives demonstrate integrity and a sustained commitment to realizing a world of peace and service to humanity. The team is headed by Dr. Amb. Salinder Supri, Excutive Diector Excellence UK and Amb. Ozuem Esiri, Secretary, Global PH Award Committee.

Senator Gyang was nominated for the award for his long standing engagement and practical involvement in promoting peace at the local and national levels and by implication, positively impacting on Global Peace.

Furthermore, Senator Gyang’s efforts in peace building and harmonious communal coexistence, assistance to the well being of IDPs, Philanthropy, Human Development and investment in Education infrastructure, Portable water and Sanitation and attainment of objectives of the Sustainable Development Goals attracted commendation deserving of the award.

At the award presentation in Abuja, Wednesday 17/11/21 were Hon. Beni Lar, Hon. Solomon Bulus Maren, Hon. Amos Magaji, Hon Ngo Martha Bodunrin and several others who spoke glowingly of the sterling leadership qualities and virtues of Senator Gyang.

Senator Gyang dedicated the award to his desire for attainment of lasting peace in his constituency, Plateau State, Nigeria and the world at large. He equally commended efforts of CSOs and other international bodies in addressing humanitarian crisis across the globe with particular reference to Nigeria despite the hazard that goes with it. He reiterated his commitment to the pursuit of peace while calling on governments across the globe to intensify the fight and war against terrorism.
