Senator Representing Plateau North in the National Assembly Sen. Istifanus Dung Gyang has unveiled his desire and plan to take on the English monarchy and British government to pay reparation for illegal sale of the reversionary right of Host Communities on Colonial Mining Leases and expropriation of mineral wealth in the then Upper Plateau which consists largely of today’s Plateau North Senatorial District.

Senator Gyang who is the Deputy Chairman Senate Committee on Defense made his intention known during the Public Hearing of the Senate Committee on Solid Minerals investigating the loss of Billions of Dollars to illegal mining of gold and other minerals in Nigeria.

Gyang in a Press Statement signed and issued to Journalists by his Special Assistant on Media and Protocol Hon. Musa Ibrahim Ashoms said he
shall in pursuit of this historic quest, be seeking the support of the Senate and Nigerian government and will shortly constitute a committee of experts and lawyers for this all important reparation demand.
