Plateau peace building agency host Irigwe Internal peace and security committee

Yesterday, 13th July 2020, we hosted the Irigwe Internal Peace and Security Committee to a One-day capacity building training on mediation in the mini conference hall of the PPBA.

The training was facilitated by Mercy Corps Nigeria with a view to equip the all- inclusive Committee made up of Irigwe, Fulani, Hausa and Rukuba ethnic groups with the tools and skills needed to tackle the protracted Peace & security challenges in the Miango District and environs.

At the PPBA, we are now shifting our focus to empowering ordinary local communities to do extra ordinary things for Peace. We are not only poised to supporting such inclusive community structures to break the conflict trap and setting the basis for transformation but willing to partner to entrench the ideals of sustainable Peace in our dear state.

Tons of gratitude to the governor of Plateau state, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong who was ably represented by the Secretary to the Government of the State, Prof. Danladi Atu for his vision of a stable, united and inclusive Plateau.
We also owe a great deal of gratitude to the Director General, Research, Strategy and Documentation Government House, Prof. John Wade mni and Sani Sulaiman, Deputy Chief of Party, Mercy Corps who facilitated and provided support for the training.
Thank you Mercy Corps, Nigeria.
