Former Governor of Plateau State and founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Jonah Jang, has debunked an online report credited to him that he has disowned the Plateau State Caretaker Committee approved by the party’s National Working Committee.
Jang in a statement issued to yesterday by his Media Consultant, Mr Clinton Garuba, said he welcomed the decision of the NWC in appointing members of the last executive as caretaker committee after the expiration of their tenures.
The statement reads further; “The attention of Senator Jonah Jang has just been drawn to a false report by a discredited online news medium, which over time has continued to publish fake news, especially as it relates to happenings on the Plateau.
“In order not to give credence to a lowly rated report, we have in the past ignored all of this fake news. However, we have decided to respond to his latest story, which is intended to mislead the very few who still read their concocted write ups.
“In the light of the above, we wish to state categorically that Senator Jonah Jang welcomed the decision of the NWC of the PDP in appointing members of the last exco as caretaker committee after the expiration of their tenures, we salute the courage of our great party in taking that decision, which could only have been done by divine wisdom, because doing otherwise would have thrown up a greater challenge.
Jang, who was PDP presidential aspirant in the 2019 general election, said at no time did he shut his door against caretaker chairman, Hon. Yakubu Chocho and members of his committee.
He added that the Peoples Democratic Party on the Plateau was a united family and shall continue to be so.
The former governor, however, called on all party faithful who have genuine complaints to approach the party with their concerns as the PDP had a robust conflict-resolution mechanism
