Exodus Pennap parallel PDP EXCO in Plateau says its legitimacy is in the key elders whose backing they enjoy

Today Thursday 21^st 2020, the self-appointed PDP EXCO who swore themselves-in as parallel caretaker committee, led by Hon. Exodus Pennap held a press conference. The press conference was held at the J T Useni campaign office opposite Dogon Karfe (because they were barred from entering the main PDP secretariat).

In the communique released after the press conference, Hon Exodus Pennap said “over the course of the last two weeks, the general public, security personnel and the unsuspecting members of our great party have been fed with lies by group of people who are desperate to remain in office at all cost, the have gone on to present to whoever cares to know letters that lack credibility and communication that falls short of standard administrative procedure.”. He lambasted the Chocho led EXCO as self-absorbed, unprofessional and self-serving.

Making his position, Hon. Exodus Pennap cited the PDP constitution of 2017 (as amended), saying it is only the National Chairman or Secretary that can wade into the matter at hand not the National Working Committee, as claimed by the Chocho-led EXCO.

Furthermore, he said the PDP constitution is abundantly clear about the duration of the tenure of officials and that there are no ambiguities around it, hence he assesses it illegal that the Chocho-led EXCO continues to perpetuate itself in office.

Also speaking, he alleged that the Chocho-led EXCO are making attempts to impose a certain type of leadership on the party and that they will resist such.

When fielding questions from journalists, Hon Exodus Pennap claimed that they enjoy massive support from numerous elders of the party. However when ViewPointNigeria’s reporter pressed him to name the elders who he claims are behind them, he said a large number of elders are behind us, contrary to speculations that only General J T Useni and Sen. Ibrahim Mantu are with us.

In closing, The EXCO pledged their loyalty to the Uche Secondus led National Working Committee.
