The senator representing Plateau North, Mr Gyang Pwajok has said that the security system in the country cannot checkmate the insecurity facing the nation. He was speaking at a public lecture to honour Plateau State Governor Jonah Jang who clocked 69.
Pwajok while speaking as the Guest lecturer in the event stated that the security system was still lagging behind after 100 years of amalgamation of the Northern and Southern protectorate. According to him, intelligence gathered by security officials has not yielded positive results leading to loss of lives and properties nationwide.

President of the Institute of Governance and Social Research, Isawa Eliagwu who was the chairman of the occasion in an earlier address dismissed the notion that state Governors will make use of State Police to satisfy their political and ethnic objectives.
Eliagwu praised Governor Jang for transforming Plateau State despite the security challenges bedevilling the State. He supported the Governor in the call for State police so as to curb the security challenges peculiar to each State of the federation.
