The biometric data exercise initiated by Plateau State Government to verify the actual number of staff in its civil service seems to be in disarray. Checks reveal that names of prominent civil servants in the State have been omitted from the biometric data exercise.

The names of the Accountant General, State Director of treasury, some directors, some permanent secretaries and the GM Plateau Radio Television Corporation (PRTVC) were all omitted. Also missing from the biometric data include names of over 100 staff of PRTVC and Plateau Publishing Company (PPC) while the entire staff of the Environment ministry had their names removed.

Civil Servants at the State Secretariat appeared to be in low spirit and were seen discussing in groups. The State Government is yet to comment on the latest development.
