The Plateau state gubernatorial candidate under the platform of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Gyang Pwajok has attributed the defeat of President Goodluck Jonathan in the just concluded presidential election to the politics of the Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) distribution by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Pwajok who is popularly known as GNS poke to journalists in Jos and stated that the outcome of the election would have been different if INEC had distributed the PVCs nationwide according to number of registered voters.

He said that his ward just like many across the country suffered disenfranchisement as the 818 registered voters were told to re-register and only 8 out of them got the PVC. He said this affected the election as people who wanted to vote could not vote.

Pwajok called on INEC to ensure people without the PVCs for no fault of theirs are allowed to vote with their Temporal Voters’ Card (TVCs) in the Governorship and house of assembly elections slated for April 11th.

The PDP gubernatorial candidate said that he was optimistic that the PDP will win the remaining elections and that the outcome of the presidential election will not affect them in whatsoever way.
