Ahead of the April 11th gubernatorial elections, the Plateau State candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Sen. Gyang Pwajok has called on the Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Prof. Attahiru Jega to make provisions for People who have Temporary Voter Cards (TVC) to exercise their franchise using the manual voter’s register during the upcoming polls.

Pwajok made the call on Thursday, while briefing journalists in Jos, saying there was total failure of the card reader machine in Plateau State during the Presidential and National Assembly Elections and called on INEC to discard the use of permanent voter cards and the associated card readers in favour of the temporary voters cards.

He expressed confidence that he will win the 11th April governorship polls, saying “I believe that there are intervening variables that will come to play during the governorship election because the feelings and expectation of Plateau people will differ from what has just manifested in the presidential polls.

“The reality is that there will be alignment and realignment. It is a fact that some Plateau people voted Buhari during the Presidential polls but will vote GNS Pwajok for governorship and the other way too.

“I want to call on those who have stuck their necks for the greater good of Plateau state to remain resolute and to remain steadfast in standing for what they believe. And I’d want to let them know that in the People’s Democratic Party, as far as Plateau State is concern, we stand to benefit more by voting the PDP and we have already made clear statements by voting in that direction by voting for the PDP in the presidential polls and i do not think that we should step back particularly now that the national reality is not too clear.

“I am not worried anywhere because I believe that out of this confusion we will come out victorious, and I am ready to take up the challenge to give quality leadership that Plateau people expect of the younger generation of leadership that is emerging in Plateau”.

“I went to a polling unit where a card reader was processing but I know that the national reality shows that it was a total failure in most of the areas that is why a decision had to be taken midway during the election to discard the use of the card reader, so there is no way you can fall back if there is a rule that states that you can use the manual voter’s register and I believe is a step of clear revolution”.

Pwajok appreciated Plateau People for coming out to vote PDP and urged them not to be demoralise by the outcome of the Presidential election, to come out in mass to vote PDP come 11th, April, for a greater Plateau.

He blamed the failure of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) during the Presidential and National Assembly election on the aggrieved members of the Party who quit but expressed optimism that Plateau will remain in the opposition since that party was conceived in that and won three Senatorial seats and six members of the House of Representatives during the last elections.
