The village of Rekwechongu of Bassa LGA saw an attack on Friday night (3rd May 2019) at about 10pm, during which two people we said to have been killed.

The dead include a 65 year old farmer named Adi Zere who was burnt beyond recognition and a 35 year old mobile police officer of Irigwe extraction who was visiting the community.

Two churches, about a dozen houses and 58 barns were said to have been burnt.
