The Independent Nation Electoral Commission (INEC) has hinted that there could be a further extension for the collection of the Permanent Voters Card (PVC) in Plateau, Ogun and Lagos.

Chief Press Secretary to INEC Chairman, Mr Kayode Idowu stated that all outstanding PVCs have been distributed to the states witnessing shortages. INEC further stated that 81% of PVCs have been collected nationwide.

The commission said that it will meet with political parties, civil societies and other stakeholders to discuss the final modalities before Saturday when the first election will hold.

It will be recalled that ViewPointNigeria earlier reported the shortages of PVCs in Plateau state which prompted leaders of the state to approach the court seeking it to allow people with Temporary Voters Card to be eligible to vote.
