News reaching ViewPointNigeria indicates that suspected Fulani herdsmen have killed six people at Takwok and Rahol Gasa villages in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State on Tuesday night.
The deceased were said to include a member of the Plateau State Security outfit (Operation Rainbow) –who was said to have been killed at a farm in Takwok, along with another gentleman. Following the dastard act, the marauders were said to have decended on Rahol Gasa village, killing four others.
Mr Titus Samuel, a member of the community, gave the names of victims of the Takwok attack as Habila Fom and Joseph Bayi Dung.
One of the survivors, Pastor Badung Davou, whose daughter-in-law, Felicia Badung, and her eight year- old son, Amos Badung, were killed at Rahol Gasa, said the gunmen attacked the community at 9:04pm. The clan head of the area, Mr. Boyi Deme said a woman named Evelyn and her two-year-old son, Chuwang, were also killed in the attack.
This is the second attack which has occurred in Plateau North senatorial zone this week –it would be recalled that earlier this week, another 8 people were massacred mercilessly by suspected Fulani marauders in a village in Barkin Ladi. The deceased, including a retired police officer and his family.
Following a period of relative calm and quiet in the hills of Plateau, the near weekly attacks appear to have commenced again, raising questions about the peace which said to have been brokered between the various communities.
