NESCO officially hand over buildings, quarters donated to Plateau State for the take off of Mobile Barracks in Gashish.

The Nigerian Electricity Supply corporation (Nig) Limited has officially handed over Buildings, quarters and other properties to the Plateau state Government for the immediate takeoff of the Mobile Barracks approved by the Federal Government to ensure the immediate relocation of internally displaced persons back to their ancestral Land.
Assistant chief Engineer Generation of NESCO Engr. Azu Mishael while handing over the buildings and some quarters Worth millions of Naira located at Kurra Falls Gashish in Barking Ladi LGC of the state to the Commissioner of Housing Plateau State Hon. Luka Madaki pledge that NESCO will provide 24hours electricity supply to the Mobile Barracks.
It would be recalled that over 200 persons were killed on the 23rd June, 2018 when suspected Fulani herdsmen attacks various Communities of Gashish District Of Barkin Ladi which prompted the Plateau state Government to make demands from the Federal Government for the sitting of Mobile Barracks to ensure the security and safety of the Communities.
Engr. Mishael said gesture was part of NESCO corporate responsibility toward supporting the effort of the Plateau state government to ensure lasting peace is achieved in Gashish communities.
According to him the company is ever ready to support the effort of Governor Lalong for the return of displaced communities.
NESCO was established in 1929 with Head office in Gashish District of Barkin Ladi Local Government and has been supplying electricity to the state and part of Nasarawa and Kaduna state respectively.
The commissioner of Housing Plateau State Hon. Luka Madaki who had mobilised all the technical staffs of the Ministry to Gashish commended the gesture of the Electricity company.
“Iam here by the directive of Governor Simon Lalong with all my technical team from the Ministry of Housing to properly take position, commenced the structural design of the Buildings and quarters that NESCO has donated to us for the formation of Mobile Barracks and immediate relocation of internally displaced persons back to their communities”.
“Governor Simon Lalong was here about two weeks ago and he has given me an immediate order for the quick renovation of this buildings and quarters donated by NESCO for the Mobile Barracks, and that is why the staff of Ministry has now relocated to Gashish for this immediate tasks to complete the structural design, you can see with me architects, quantity surveyors, Engineers amongst other with me now and very soon this place with be ready”.
Hon. Madaki again disclosed that during the visit of Governor Lalong to Gashish the community also donated 75 rooms to be renovated as part of the Mobile Barracks.
Plateau Youth Council Chairman Gashish District Mr Joshua Danbwarang while taken round the commissioner to the 75 rooms donated by the communities commended the Plateau State Government for taken prompt action to ensure the relocation of the IDPS, saying the Communities are ever ready to return back to their Houses if there is guaranty of security.
