Plateau State Government has rejoiced with former governor of the state and senator representing Plateau Central, Chief Joshua Dariye, over the rescue of his father from the hands of kidnappers.

Their delight was contained in a press statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Abubakar Badu, issued to journalist in Jos. He commended the security agencies for rising to their responsibility of protecting lives and property.

Excerpts of the statement reads: “The government and people of Plateau State rejoice with the Senator Dariye’s family over the rescue of the father, Pa Dafweng Dariye, and commend the efforts of the security personnel for their commitment, resolve and dedication and assured them of continued support”.

The government, while condemning in strong terms the kidnapping as an act of terrorism, enjoins the general public to be vigilant at all times and report any suspicious movement to law enforcement agencies for appropriate action. Jang regretted why an innocent elderly man would be subjected to such a traumatic condition, and urged resident to remain conscious of people living around their environment.
