Plateau Regeneration Group at the weekend endorsed former deputy Governor of the state Ambassador Ignatius Longjang as their candidate for the Plateau Southern Senatorial District ahead of the preparation for the 2019 contest.

Public Relations officer of the group Pam Datiri, who spoke on the decision at a event organised by the group in Jos , said the group decided to endorse the Ex Governor Baba Longjang because of his focused, committed, resilient and consistent leadership style .

“Longjang would be voted for massively come 2019 due to his antecedents while he held sway as a loyal deputy Governor of the state .”

“Our members from the Southern senatorial district have all agreed to work for Baba Longjang because he has the interest of his people at heart .”

The group further kicked against Langtang ticket for governorship and Senate of the peoples Democratic party .

Our correspondent reports that Senator Jeremiah Useni, the flag-bearer of the PDP in the 2019 general elections is Taroh from Langtang North LGA and Barrister Peter Dandam Kefas, the flag-bearer of the party for the Plateau South Senatorial zone is also Taroh from Langtang North LGA

“We believe in the good works of the ex Governor Baba Longjang and have come out today to endorse him as our candidate and we would work and ensure he becomes the next senator from the zone .”

“We call on the people of the zone to vote Baba Longjang stressing that he has what it takes to change the Senatorial district for better if elected .”

It could be recalled that former state deputy governor, Ignatius Longjang defeated another former deputy governor, Pauline Tallen in the southern zone APC primaries .

Longjang polled 972 votes to emerge winner of the APC senatorial primary election in the southern zone of plateau state, beating three other persons .
