In another sad development, ViewPointNigeria reports of the killing of two individuals in Latya village (behind Rayfield), this evening.

The two were reportedly ambushed at 8pm this evening, when suspected herdsmen waylaid and opened fired on them, killing both instantly.

Sporadic gunshot could be heard in various corners of Latya at the time of filing this report and it was unclear whether security operatives had responded to the distress calls.

Other reports which have hit the ViewPointNigeria late this night at 11pm has put the death toll at nearer  10, however that remains unverified. And our reporter is already working to establish the exact casualty figures.
