The National Orientation Agency (NOA) In Plateau state has called on the warring communities in Mangu Local Government Area (LGA) to shun violence and embrace peace. This was the resolution at a peace parley conveyed by NOA and the communities.
Mr Bulus Dabit who is the director of NOA in Plateau stated that leaders of the communities have decided to live in peace and embrace dialogue. He called on the warring youths to lay down their arms for a peaceful coexistence.

The spokesman for Mwaghavul people who are the natives of Kantoma called on the youths to promote peace and maintain the legacy left behind by fore fathers of the community.
Miyetti-Allah Cattle Breeders Association, Alhaji Salim Umar called on youths to embrace peace as it has no alternative.
The peace parley is sequel to the cycle of violence in the village of Kantoma where a native of the area was beheaded. The native Mwaghavuls who blamed the Fulanis for the attack after tracing blood to their settlement grouped and launched a counter attack leading to a series of attacks and counter attacks between both communities.
Reacting to the renewed violence, Plateau state police spokesman, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Abu Emmanuel stated that a detachment of mobile policemen were drafted and are currently patrolling the area and investigation is ongoing.
The Special Task Force (STF) spokesman, Captain Ikedichi Iweha on his part stated that the situation was under control and called on the warring groups to desist from the cycle of attacks and counter attacks while stressing that the STF will deal with trouble makers.
