The Plateau State Government has budgetted the sum of N215, 465, 835, 418.00 for the 2015 fiscal year.
Presenting the budget tagged, “Budget of Transition and Inclusive Growth V” on Tuesday in Jos, Governor Jang told the State’s House of
Assembly that, “The size of the 2015 budget is N215, 465, 835, 418.00 only, showing a 4.26% drop from last year’s estimate.
Adding that, the drop is as a result of dwindling economic fortunes, particularly in the oil sector.
The sum of N92, 494, 335, 822.00, is for recurrent expenditure, which is 42.93% of the budget; while N122,971, 499, 596.00 is for Capital
estimate, representing 57.07%.

Jang further explained that, the 2015 budget will be funded from the over N16.8 billion estimated Internally Generated Revenue (IGR); the sum of over N43.6 billion is expected from the Statutory Revenue Allocation, saying it shows a 6.41% drop from the outgone year.
The Governor added that, over N2.6 billion is expected from SURE-P, while the sum of N15.3 billion is expected from re-imbursements from
Federal Government, for the State’s intervention on federal roads. Also expected from capital receipts and donor assisted programmes is the sum of over N12.3 The Ministries of Works and Transport, and that of Education have the highest in the budget, while the former got over N34.2 billion, the latter got over N18.9 billion.
It would be recalled that the 2014 budget estimate was N225, 058, 026, 306.00.
