The attention of the Movement for the survival of Plateau People (MOSOPP) has been drawn to a press briefing held by governorship aspirants opposed to the gubernatorial primary election held on the 8th of December, 2014 at the Jos Township Stadium.

The governorship aspirants rather than stay with the issue of the primary election started out by insulting the person and the office of the governor which they currently wish to occupy. It is unfortunate that such elderly people will condescend so low as to behave in a manner reminiscent of the rascality associated with drunks. It is however not strange because they are drunk with obsession for the pursuit of power that they are blinded by their ambitions.

The attention of the Movement for the survival of Plateau People (MOSOPP) – a Jos based group which comprises professionals and political activist all working in Jos, has been drawn to a press briefing held by governorship aspirants opposed to the gubernatorial primary election held on the 8th of December, 2014 at the Jos Township Stadium.

We of the group have noted with dismay, the threats by these people who have vowed to cause mayhem and a breach of the peace we currently enjoy. We wish to warn that we would not allow our state to be thrown into chaos by the inordinate ambitions of a few spent politicians.

We make it boldly clear that we await them to make good their threats and see if they don’t get consumed by the same monster of violence which they are already threatening our peace with.

The PDP governorship primary election was conducted in an open manner such that even those who were not the venue have attested to the credibility of the process. To continue to allege that the delegate were coerced smack more of nothing but cheap blackmail. If these aspirants were that popular as they claim how come the delegate refused to stage the walk-out with them leading to a cancellation of the process?
It is time that these politicians recognise the people no longer stay aloof and take whatever comes to them. More than ever before, Nigerians are wiser and are interested in the political processes, they can no longer be fooled to follow blindly the desperation of some politicians.

We wish to call on the national executive of the PDP to ignore the ranting of drowning politicians who do wish the party well. They have no electoral value, if they did, they would have won the primaries. Plateau people remain committed to building the peace that we now enjoy and any attempt by any individuals or groups to cause a breakdown will be strongly resisted.
It our Plateau, we would defend and protect her even from the enemies within.
