The two main Plateau State Associations in Diaspora (i.e., the UK and USA associations) have in view of the incessant killings on the Plateau, decided to explore organising protests as a means of drawing global attention to the culpable genocide and injustices being meted out to the defenceless people of the state.

Rising from discussions with the various leaderships of the organisations, the two entities are finalising plans to protest in tandem on Friday 6th July in London, New York, Washington DC and Atlanta at the various Nigerian Embassies and High Commissions.

The protest in London, will also draw support from other Middle-belt diaspora organisations who have indicated their willingness to join, they include the Southern Kaduna and Benue diaspora organisations.

It would be recalled that last week (22nd – 24th June 2018) over 200 people we murdered by suspected herdsmen in attacks which lasted over 48 hours in Gashish District of Barkin Ladi LGA – with little action from the Nigerian security forces etc. Prior to that, over 5 separate attacks were recorded in the Month of June alone, with scores of people killed and numerous others injured with varying degrees of severity. Areas which have been particularly hit, have been in the Northern Senatorial Zone, with Barkin Ladi bearing most of the brunt.
