Senator Joshua Dariye of the central zone has won the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) senatorial primaries to represent the zone in 2015 election. He beat his closest rival Nde Alexandra Mwolwus to vie for the seat he currently holds.

Dariye who was the past Governor of Plateau state hails from Bokkos Local Government in the Central zone of the state. He left the PDP and contested for senate under the Labour party in 2011 and won before defecting back to the PDP to stand for the 2015 election.
