A Federal High Court sitting in Jos has struck out a case brought before it by nine aggrieved members of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau state seeking to halt the party gubernatorial primaries. The court ruled that the plaintiffs lack the locus standi to approach the court since they have not established any cause of action.
Justice Ambrose Allagoa while ruling said that he would not go into the merit of the case since there was no basis for it in the first instance. He said that the act was yet to be carried out and basing the case on speculation will amount to hear say while calling on the plaintiffs to provide sufficient cause for the case.

It will be recalled that some members of PDP in the state have gone to court to challenge the coming primaries as it was against the principles of zoning and power sharing in the party constitution. The state PDP is now set to hold the gubernatorial primaries tomorrow as a result of the ruling.
