The story of Gashish district in Barkin Ladi LGA is a sad sad one -a 60-hour onslaught which has left a trail of blood, despair and horror has taken with it over 204 souls. Many of them women, children and young men in their primes.

At the last count this afternoon, over 204 corpses were said to have been recovered although the STF operatives on site have prevented families from accessing the corpses of their loved ones or even taking pictures.
