NANS unveils the Slogan- Say no to violence for a United Nigeri.

Youths and Students have key roles to play in the peace and security of our nation Nigeria, this was the resolution reached at the opening ceremony of the symposium organised by the Vice President special duties of NANS


The vice president special duties of NANS comrade Felix Attah who is the convener says the event with the theme: “Enlightening youths and students as a panacea to violence and building capacity for unity and peaceful coexistence in Nigeria “ is embedded in the philosophy of the second stanza of the Nigerian national anthem.
The vice president condemns the killings of citizens in the North central and the North-East.
The Director Nigerian Film corporation Dr.Chidia Maduekewe challenges the participants that life is sacred and prays they take the message as only then can we have a peaceful society. Again, prof Christy Best the Reactor of NFI calls on the participants to be voice of wisdom and also to be conscience of their community as leaders of today. She further calls the youths to pursue justice and peace.
Prof.Best who is the Guest speaker talks on youths and violence in Nigeria commends NANS for the Initiative. Best raised issues of 60 percent uneducated youths as raised by PMB as faulty as such a statistics is debatable. Prof. Best concludes that youths are the greatest causality in Nigeria as a result of military inclusion in politics saying “ with military inclusion comes the culture of cultism on campuses and outside, the culture of street gangs and HIV aids and other vices”
Luka Panpe a lecturer with plateau State polytechnic a guest lecturer disagrees with the notion that a youth is related to age, but it is directly related to poverty because one who has millions is no longer a youth even if such a person Falls between the age , Panpe out line many society’s big weddings that have cut across the Nigerian society which is without biases to tribe or religion.
Panpe illustration of the big society inter marriage concept suggest that the only thing that binds them is elitism but the masses are the only vehicles of violence .
Panpe concludes that the elites leave the masses with the education that teaches the masses to depend on white collar jobs.
