Over 1000 less privileged people in Northern Senatorial zone of Plateau State, including traders, artisans, farmers, cultural groups, politicians, widows, youths and others are to benefit from the multi-million naira empowerment programme of Senator Gyang Nyam Shom Pwajok.
Confirming the report media officer to the Senator Chuwang Dung said arrangements are already in top gear for the public distribution of the items which is scheduled for Thursday this week at the Jos Polo field by 10:00 am.
Dung added that the programme was initiated by the Senator and it is aimed at creating opportunities for the less privileged to participate in the economy and improve their earning potentials in order to assist their families fight their way out of poverty.

According to him, “This initiative is part of effort put in place by Senator GNS Pwajok to increase small and medium scale enterprises among people of his constituency, thus improving the quality of lives of the citizenry through capacity building. It is when our people are gainfully employed that they would be able to put food on their table and become self-sufficient”.
Dung said needs assessment was carried out before embarking on the programme and various political leaders and associations were consulted to ensure that the needs of these beneficiaries were met to enable them to be self-employed and self-sufficient.
He said the Senate President, Senator David Mark is expected to serve as special guest of honour during the occasion and other dignitaries within and outside the state are expected to grace the occasion.
The empowerment items to be distributed include, Vehicles, Tricycles, block moulding machines, water pumps, Generating sets, Milling Machines, Grinding Machines, Hair Dryers, Sewing Machines, Barbing Kits, Computers, Wheel Chairs among others.
