University of Jos, faculty of management science holds first international conference.

The vice Chancellor, and the chief host Prof.S.A. Maimako represented by the DVC administration today at crest hotel Jos declares the 1st international conference of management with the Theme : Emerging Issues in the Management of Resources in a Democracy, and it is  expected to run from 8 to 11 of May 2018. The conference is attended by foreign and local academicians , and co sponsored by Plateau State University, Nasarawa State University and plateau state universal basic education among many organizations and individuals.

 

While declaring the event, the Vice Chancellor tasked all participants, to use the platform to crate knowledge that will enhance the development of human life.

In his opening remark, the conference chairman professor Ekoja B. Ekoja (Director, office of Research and Development University of Jos ) calls on scholars to be careful with roadside publishers who basically are predators, citing many lacuna in publication. Professor Ekoja advice that it is saver  to publish at departments and faculties because of the integrity

The Dean faculty of management sciences, Prof.S.A Ocholi welcomes participants, and stress the fact that the conference will also avail the postgraduate students in the faculty a chance to publish.

Professor Ocholi points out many factors that affect chief executives in management of scarce resources pointing to poor resources , risk associated with resources and unrealistic deadline, poor documentation among many to some challenges in management.

Delivering the keynote address, MR. Satu Jatau Jewon,Branch controller, Central Bank of Nigeria, Jos. Says the conference is timely and its outcome is expected to reshape the culture of prudence in management in the Nigerian democracy.


Mr. Jewon raised the issues of wastefulness in Nigeria’s democracy as a major problem in today’s managements, he further invokes the freedom of information act insisting that all head of MDA and other agencies to make public income and expenditure . Furthermore, the speaker blames the herdsmen-farmers attack on poor management .
Participants are expected to be divided into sessions for further discuss, the journal is index by Tedfund
