Dakwak state in his presentation that the state government through the Ministry of Health has been able to strengthen the surveillance system by engaging the Disease Surveillance and Notification Officers (DSNOs) and the ward focal persons to carry out active case search and surveillance for EVD in all communities in the state as well as training of 31 DSNOs and over 300 clinicians and community key informants on case definition; reporting of EVD and how to use Personal Protecting Equipment (PPE).

Further speaking, he said that the state has been able to reserve a 36-bed space ward in old Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH), saying that it is a centre where close contact case of Ebola Virus Disease would be observed, adding that the 17 local government areas (LGAs) have been directed to form emergency response committees.
Dakwak, also told journalist that, from N1.9 Billion that was released by the Federal Government for fight against Ebola, Plateau State Government was yet to get its share.
It would be recalled that last week the State Government, avvered that it was also training up to 8000 teacher of both Primary and Secondary institutions in Ebola symptoms detection as a means of detecting early cases of the disease.
