Barely 24 hours after the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau State Hon. Latep Dabang was sacked from office by the party’s Appeal Committee, the State’s Exco has passed a vote of confidence on the embattled Chairman.

The Exco made the position known through the party’s State deputy Chairman, Hon. Fanmak Enoch who briefed journalists in Jos on Tuesday, in company of other Exco members and Chairman of 14 out of the 17 LGAs in the State.

Enoch said, “We members of the party have resolved and pass a vote of confidence on our Chairman, Hon. Latep Dabang and we pledge our loyalty to his leadership of APC in Plateau State.

“For the avoidance of doubt, Hon. Latep Dabang was alongside other elected State Chairmen inaugurated by the outgone National Chairman of the Interim Committee, Chief Bisi Akande with the same Alhaji Tijjani Tumsah in attendance.

Adding that, “This was done after the sitting and decision of the Appeal Committee that claimed to have produced the letter of annulment. He stressed.

The deputy Chairman further stated that, “It is laughable that while the National Secretariat of the party has been corresponding with Hon. Latep Dabang since his inauguration on June, 5th, 2014, to attend party functions at the National Level, this group is busy appointing a Chairman here in Jos in someone’s business office.

“Infact as we address you now Hon. Latep Dabang alongside other National Officers are attending a national assignment in Osun State”.

Enoch called on party supporters in the State to disregard the misleading information and remain calm, saying the party and its entire leadership are intact in the State.
