Youth and social activist, Mr Jones La-Nibetle has raised an alarm over the body language of PLASIEC with regards conducting the February 17th 2018 LG Polls. Asking a series of rhetorical questions -the activist raised key points ranging from PLASIEC’s preparedness to sundry issues surrounding PLSG’s ability to fully finance the elections.

It’s been a few days short of 3 years since the so-called rescue administration headed by a legal practitioner, former lawmaker and House Speaker took over.

Paradoxically, the supposed rescue pilot has been playing the active role of a lawbreaker. It has become crucial at this point to refresh our minds around happenings that hold the very existence of our 3rd tier of Government in Plateau state.

Months ago, Gov. Lalong through Mr Fabian Ntung- (who micro-manages and carries office files) everywhere can assure Plateaunians of LG elections come Feb 17, 2018. Sadly, the body language of this administration is no where close to reflecting a State heading to the polls.

This well-orchestrated mishap has birthed questions that only our celebrated rescue auto-cruise pilot- Governor-Alert” can answer:
1. With less than a month to the announced and so-called date of election (17/02/18), why is there no timetable?

2. With the non-disclosure of the voter’s register which is entirely dependent on INEC’s voter’s register, what is the fate of the election vis-a-vis the ongoing CVR and PLASIECS non disclosure of voting centres in each LGA?

3. If Feb 17 is anything to go by, why is PLASIEC yet to recruit and train adhoc staff?

4. With the release of INEC’s guidelines for the 2019 general elections, what’s the fate of Plateau in terms of clashes with the guidelines once there is a shift?

5. With PLASIEC’s blatant nonchalance, lack of organization and/or incompetence, is the LG polls feasible to hold?

6. Has the lien placed by UBA (this government’s main bank) of the 50% refund of the Paris Club in Dec become an impediment to financing the LG elections?

7. Can the delay and hanky-panky be attributed to the fact that the ruling APC have come to terms with the reality of winning/sweeping the elections as they would wish?

8. Is Mr Governor already validating the rumours from the grapevines of ‘appointing another set of unproductive transition management committee’?

9. What game Is the Lalong administration up to and what games are they playing with our mandate and what could be the gains for our disenfranchisement?

These questions and many more are drawn from concerned-disenfranchised “Plateaunians” as it seems the Lalong 4 year tenure is about to make history as the first to not hold elections into the third tier of Govt. I hope praise-singers, sycophants, boot-lickers and cohorts are lobbying for slots…?
