United States of America has donated military equipment to the Nigerian Army to aide in the fight against insurgency. The US embassy in Nigeria said the equipment donated included non-lethal transportation, communication, and force protection equipment.

Major General Ibrahim Sani who is the Chief of Army Transformation and Innovation received the equipment on behalf of the Nigeria army from Brigadier General James Linder who stood in for the US Government.
