Report reaching ViewPointNigeria indicates that two secondary school students in Shendam Local Government Area of Plateau State were struck dead by lightening while another was seriously injured.

Mr Raymond Gofut, who is the principal of the school, stated that the incident occurred when the students were returning to their hostel after a heavy down pour in the evening. The third student was immediately rushed to an undisclosed hospital while the remains of the two deceased students were deposited at a local mortuary.

The Plateau state Commissioner for Education, Mr. Nanle Dashe confirmed the incident and said it was not a government-owned secondary school though he was yet to receive full details of the incident.
