Plateau: Tricycle suspension leaves passengers stranded

Following the temporal suspension of tricycle movement in Jos, the Plateau state capital by the security agencies, passengers across the capital were left stranded.

The absence of the commercial tricycles, which were the major means of local transportation in Jos, had forced people to walk to their destinations on foot.

The ViewPointNigeria gathered that although the suspension has indeed discomforted people within Jos, but to some, the development was well welcomed, saying that it would assist the security in maintaining law and order in the state.

According to the state police command through its Public Relations Officer, ASP Tyopev Mathias Terna, the essence of the suspension was to ensure hitch-free celebration of the Yuletide but not to discomfort members of the public.

Our correspondent reports that the Christmas celebration in the state was peaceful as no report of violence was recorded.
