News reaching us suggests that students of the University of Jos have today (Wednesday 28th May 2014) held a peaceful protest to draw the attention of Government to the perpetual killing of students by suspected Boko Haram insurgents.

The protest was organised by union leaders of the University and was attended by colleagues from both the Unijos temporary and permanent sites. Students were dressed in black to reflect their mood and held banners and inscripments with message of defiance, appeal and affirmation. 

Also in attendance at the protest, was comrade Jude Imagwe, the special adviser to the President on Youth and Student matters. Comrade Imagwe joined the protest in solidarity with students, to show his disdain for the menace currently being faced.

It would be recalled that one of a series of Bomb blasts approx. 2 weeks ago killed 150 people at the Jos Terminus Market, including 7 students
