ViewPointNigeria has obtained pictures of Saturday nights (24th May 2015) Bomb blast in Bauchi road. A disproportionate amount of damage can been seen to have occurred to several buildings and structures in the area, but alas to the chagrin of the perpetuators, the death toll was low.
Four people were confirmed to have lost their lives in the blast, including the suicide bomber who was said to have died on the spot. Eye witness accounts suggests that the bomber appeared not familiar with the area and therefore was going-back-and-forth whilst driving his vehicle. Until he then parked it close to the residents of one of the locals in the area.

Saturday night, i.e., the night of the Bombing was the night of the finals for the UEFA Champion’s league football final and there was a viewing centre not too far away from the explosion spot, with up to 300 teaming fans. If the bomber was targeting the view centre, the casualty would have been colossal given how tightly packed the fans were, so it is fortunate that he was unable to penetrate and wreak the desired havoc.
However, it remains unclear whether the bomber was targeting that centre of simply ferrying the bomb to another location, especially with only a few hours before Church Services on Sunday morning. This idea is not far fetched given that the miscreants always target churches or areas dominated by Plateau natives or Southerners as opposed to Northern enclaves. And given that they have consistently mentioned that they wish to attack Plateau natives/Christians, it perhaps lends credence that the bomb may have gone off prematurely and was intended for another location. Since this attack on Saturday night, the police have discovered and dis-enabled other IEDs in other locations within the city.
It would be recalled that this bomb blast is occurring a few days after a preceeding twin bomb blast which killed up to 150 market women close to Terminus Jos.
