The Federal Government of Nigeria has ordered the release of relief materials to caution the effect of Tuesday bomb blasts in Jos the Plateau state capital. The order was given by President Goodluck Jonathan who said that the materials should be disbursed immediately to the families of the deceased and affected victims of the bomb blasts that claimed many lives and destroyed properties.
Mr Mike Omeri, who is the coordinator of the Joint Security Information Center (JSIC) said so in a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday and said that 75 people lost their lives while 70 others sustained varying degrees of injuries.

The explosions that are thought to be caused by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) detonated around the busy Jos main market and Abuja market between railway terminus and the temporary site of the Jos University Teaching Hospital.
Omeri advised residents to desist from rushing to bomb blast scenes in order to avoid being victims. He said that the federal government had asked the UN Security Council to place an embargo on the Boko Haram sect and was expecting a quick response.
