He said “The government is in the process of establishing the Small Town Water Supply Agency (STWSA) and the Rural Water Supply Agency (RWSA). The STWSA, when established, will provide services in the semi-urban centres mostly in the local government headquarters of the state. This measure will boost the availability of potable water in these areas while the RWSA will provide services in the rural areas of the state.”
The commissioner said that Plateau and two other states were selected for the implementation of the EU reform programme with the state serving as the headquarters due to the government’s relentless investment in the water sector. He said that Riyom and Shendam local governments will serve as pilot projects.
