Ladies and Gentlemen,

Permit me to consolidate on protocols already established,

Today, I accept the responsibility to serve Nigerian Youths under the umbrella of.the Northern Youth Assembly of Nigeria in Plateau State. Today is indeed a day of joy for NYAN Plateau State and the entire NYAN Family across the 19 northern states.

May I used this opportunity to first of all ask all present to observe a minute silence for all who lost their lives during the unfortunate attacks on the Plateau. May their souls rest in peace; amen.

I wish to draw the attention of the National Speaker of NYAN, to join in the condemnation of senseless killings of Plateau people and Nigerians in general, especially across North Central. The perpetrators should be brought to book in sincerity.

The need for young people to participate in governance and development can not be over emphasized. Hence, today is a day for history to be made as NYAN Plateau State Chapter as we have been inaugurated to add to the voices calling for development in Plateau State.

May I used this medium to thank the Governor of Plateau State Rt Hon Simon Bako Lalong and his Team for providing the enabling environment for youth participation and engagement.

We thank the Ministry for Youth and Sports Development, led by Hon Danladi Mann for remembering us in their schedule.

To our Patron, Hon Alhaji (Dr) Dayyabu Yusuf Garga, a man of uncommon virtues and desire for youth development, we thank you for staking your integrity and personality for NYAN Plateau State Chapter, we will.not disappoint you sir. Thank for being a leader by example and for being a father to us.

We thank our mumy, Mrs Mary Ba’amlong for being there for us, for encouraging us to.maintain standards even when the environment is not conducive, yet we are strengthened and encouraged.

The tasks ahead is not for grammer but for action and mobilization. Hence, we seek. The support of Plateau Youth Council and others interest groups on the plateau to open their doors for collaboration to us for the development of Plateau State. We have not come to rival any group but to seek friendship and partnership to achieve the very goal that young people seek.

We promise to work within the jurisdiction provided by the law and in partnership with agencies to ensure that peace, unity and development is achieved on the Plateau. Peace is Paramount to development hence we must unite as Plateau people and Nigerians to strengthen efforts aimed at development.
