The All Progressive Congress (APC) Forum and a Concerned Muslim Group from Federal Low Cost Community of Jos South Local Government of Plateau state have called on the State Governor, Simon Bako Lalong  to investigate the manner in which the Sallah package meant for the entire Muslim Ummah in the state was shared.

Alhaji Salisu Abdullahi of All Progressive Congress Forum and Alhaji Yau PRO of Muslim Concerned Group who spoke with newsmen in Jos on Monday alleged that a great percentage of the food items were manipulated.

Alhaji Salisu stated that like in his Federal Low Cost community the Sallah package was only given to the selected individuals that are loyal to the Governor’s relative.

According to him, “the rice and other items were not properly shared and even the few individuals that were given were selected for selfish interest.

“And more they were not active members of the APC, The so-call relatives are not in any way helping the governor to actualize the change agenda of the rescue mission of Lalong.

“We call on the the governor to investigate this selfish act and bring the perpetrators to order so as to avoid further occurrences,” he added.

When contacted one of the friends of the governor, Alhaji Attah, who also resides at the Federal Low Cost said that the community received only 25 bags of rice and were shared without favouritism.

He said, “I came back to Nigeria from London on Wednesday (two days to Sallah), and I asked the commissioner responsible for sharing of the package for my community’s share. I requested 30 bags of rice but the commissioner gave me 25 bags of rice,

“And I swear those that didn’t think of getting it have gotten rice. I am not fraudster, I am even using my money to buy foodstuffs and share it to the needy.” He said.

Various reports in the state have hinted that this year’s Sallah packages given by the state government were diverted by few individuals who are closed to the government
