Information available to ViewPointNigeria indicates that the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Plateau state yesterday alleged that the remains of a herder, Abubakar Wada, who was reported missing last Wednesday, 29th August, 2017 has been found beheaded and buried in a stream.

MACBAN said the remains of Wada was on Sunday found to have also been burnt before it was buried in a stream, north of Dan Tanko village in Bassa local government area of the state.

The MACBAN, in a letter of complaint to the State Commissioner of Police and signed by its Chairman, Muhammad Nuru Abdullahi stated that the deceased was attacked and killed while he was returning home from rearing his cows, behind ECWA Secondary School Miango in Bassa.

The letter which was made available to newsmen stated that the Bassa branch of MACBAN had reported to the state chapter that some youths, “of Dan Tanko, village in Bassa, on Wednesday 29, August, 2017 attacked, killed and beheaded Abubakar Wada for reasons yet to be made known to us.”

The letter said the corpse which was discovered with the help of the security agencies  had been evacuated and buried according to Islamic rights but urged the Police Commissioner to take appropriate steps of transferring the case to the criminal investigation and intelligence department, so as to bring the perpetrators to book.

Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Tyopev Terna confirmed the killing and recovery of the remains, adding, “An arrest has been made and the matter is being investigated.”
