Lalong wins Governor of the year award in London

The governor of Plateau Rt Hon. Simon Bako Lalong has bagged an award as the best performing governor 2017.

At a ceremony at the prestigious Dorchester Hotel, London, the award was presented to Rt. Hon Simon Lalong by a London based news portal for Nigerian News. Represented by Dr. Gabriel Hale Longpet, the Chairman of the Plateau State Association Charity Committee in the UK, Lalong expressed gratitude to the organisers of the event for recognising his efforts and promised to continue to do more.

Alongside, Governor Lalong were eight other distinguished Nigerians who were equally honoured -these include, Minister of State for Petroleum (Dr. Ibe Kachikwu) – as Minister of the year, Chief of Army staff, General Tukur Buratai – as man of the year, Dr. Isa Pantami -as ICT promoter of the year amongst others.

The Executive Governor of Plateau State, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong has bagged the PRESTIGIOUS AWARD OF EXCELLENCE AS BEST GOVERNOR Conferred on him in Dorchester London by The Nigerian, a London Based Publication of the Nigeria News Portal. According to the Publication the selection for the Award which was sampled from an opinion poll of One Million Respondents, the Executive Governor was recognized as the Best Governor for his antecedents in Defence of Democracy, Superlative Peace Building Initiatives in Nigeria and his transparent use of resources for Sustainable Development and Human Capital Investment in Plateau.

This Award is the second in barely two months, coming after the Governor was honoured by the Global Competitiveness Good Governance Award for Peace Building of the Businessday Newspaper which was held recently at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel Abuja.

The Executive Governor who was represented by Dr Gabriel Longpet, the Chairman, Plateau State Association Charity Committee in the United Kingdom received the Award on behalf of the Governor alongside Eight other Distinguished Nigerians who were honoured, amongst whom are; The Minister of Petroleum, Dr Ibe Kachiku as Minister of the Year, General Tukur Buratai, Chief of Army Staff who was honored as Man of the year, Dr Isa Pantami as ICT Promoter of the Year, Dangote Group of Companies won most outstanding Brand of the Year and Senator Hope Uzodimma, the most outstanding Parliamentarian of the year.

In his acceptance Speech, the Executive Governor dedicated the Award to the people of Plateau State whose abiding Faith in the Rescue Administration he said, has strengthened the Social Contract of Government with the people and guaranteed the peace which the State is enjoying. He assured the People of Plateau State that the Award is a recognition that would renew his commitment to delivering good governance and the desired dividends of Democracy.
